Size an indoor pool unit from the water surface, not the pool volume. Evaporation happens at the surface, so a 1.2 m deep pool and a 3 m deep pool of the same surface area evaporate at the same rate – depth does not enter the calculation at all. What does: water surface area, water temperature, room temperature, target humidity, and how much the water is agitated. A public pool or a spa with jets evaporates far faster than a covered residential pool of the same size.
Keep the room 1–2 °C above water temperature and hold 50–60% RH. A room colder than the water sharply increases evaporation and drives condensation onto glazing, ductwork and structure.
